Public Library materials may be borrowed for up to six weeks to meet
curriculum needs. Please

for an online
application
or stop by the library and ask
at the Reference Desk for an application form.
Organizational library cards are also available for school use.
Assignment Alert Forms
When
you assign work to your students that involves library research, we do our
best to assist them. By returning a copy of our Assignment Alert or by making a
simple phone call, you will enable us to set aside the needed materials.
If you repeat annual assignments, your suggestions for additional
materials to enhance our collection are welcome.
Homework Reserve Shelf
When
you notify us of a class assignment, we will pull the appropriate
materials and set up a reserve shelf for the students’ use.
Advance notice also enables us to obtain materials from other
sources. By restricting these
materials to in-library use, they will be available so that all students
can complete the assignment.
Interlibrary Loan
If
the library does not own the materials you need, we can borrow them from
another library in Monroe County.
Tours
for Teachers
If
you would like to know more about the library’s resources or would like
to get to know the staff, please call to arrange a personal library tour
(for you or a group) or stop by to speak to a librarian.
Tours for Classes
School Visits
Classes
are welcome to visit the library for an orientation and tour.
If you would like to schedule a tour of the library for your class,
club, or other group, please call to arrange a date and time.
Instruction in public library use, booktalks, storytimes, tours of library departments, computer classes,
and assistance with school
projects are some of the programs we offer. We
are also available to visit your classroom for special programs.
For
more information on computer-related classes, please contact Patricia
Ligozio, Technology Services Librarian by email or by phone at
872-7075 for more information.
Display
We encourage schools to use library space to exhibit artwork and other
special projects during the school year. Please call the library if
you wish to exhibit special projects.
