Please join us to help stimulate and promote interest in the Webster Public Library and to support its services and programs for the community.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to all.  Each adult member has voting privileges and is requested to attend the annual meeting.  Benefits of membership include buying books, videos, and compact discs at a library discount (up to 43% off).  There are also opportunities for members to participate in various volunteer programs of the library, if they wish (see below).  To join, please fill out the form below.  For further information, please call Lisa Wemett, Assistant Director and Staff Liaison to the Friends at 872-7075 ext. 111 or Joan and Phil Gammon, Membership Co-Chairpersons at 872-4196.

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR ACTIVITIES:

It is not necessary to participate in the volunteer activities of the Friends group to be a member.  We welcome your financial and moral support.  If, however, you are interested in being a volunteer for the library, please indicate your areas of interest by checking the box in front of the items below:

q       Sorting donated materials for the on-going book sale in the library's foyer or by donating your used books

q       Assisting with library programs for children, teens, and adults

q       Helping to staff a library booth at community events and festivals

q       Publicizing library activities

q       Organizing or serving on committees for special events (e.g. contests, annual book sale, etc.)

q    Working on various clerical tasks in the library

q     Serving as an officer of the group

q     Supporting the library through letter writing and political advocacy if called upon to do so

q       Encouraging gifts and bequests to the library  

q  Teaching computer classes


Our categories of membership and suggested dues are as follows:

§         Individual or Family members: $5

§         Organizational members (i.e., not-for-profit groups, clubs, churches, etc.): $10

§         Patrons and Supporting members (e.g., businesses, individuals, etc.): $25.  Donors at this level may choose to receive a navy canvas book bag or WPL mouse pad as a gift.

You may turn in your form and payment at the Circulation Desk in the library or send it to us:  Friends of the Webster Public Library, Webster Plaza, 980 Ridge Road, Webster, New York 14580.
